hunter Smith, dvm

Owner

From a young age horses & rodeo were a big part of Dr. Smith’s life, something that stayed at the forefront of his mind as he progressed through schooling.

Upon graduating from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 he returned home to Carthage, MO and opened the doors to Smith Equine & Veterinary Services. While his love for horses has never wavered, he enjoys the challenges of mixed animal practice & is happy to serve livestock, equine and small animal clients.

He is a proud husband and girl dad to two beautiful daughters. In his spare time you can find him team roping, active in the community, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Dustin Barber, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dustin Barber, DVM

Joining the team in 2024 Dr. Barber brings unparalleled experience to our practice.

Graduating from Massey University in New Zealand she has been practicing small animal medicine in the 4-States area for 10 years. She has a love for all creatures having livestock, 2 dogs, 2 cats and even a tortoise.

While their animals keep them busy, she and her husband still find time to enjoy the outdoors. When not working you can find them gardening, fishing, hiking or traveling to new places.

Equine Vet Assistant Caitlyn

Caitlyn Philpot

A SW Missouri native, Caitlyn graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2014. If you don’t find her on the back of a horse at a team roping or breakaway jackpot she is probably on the lake boating or trout fishing. A part of the team for 3 years now she is always excited for the next equine case although, we can’t forget to mention that she has a soft spot for dogs & is our resident crazy cat lady (and proud of it!).

Michelle Lee, RVT

Currently residing in her hometown of Diamond, MO, Michelle brings over 25 years of experience in mixed and small animal practice as a registered veterinary technician. Her family is proud to have three generations showing horses and are active in our local Quarter Horse Association. She and her husband, Craig, spend their free time with family, camping, fishing and gardening.

Jori Todd

Growing up on a farm prepared Jori for taking on the challenges of working in veterinary medicine. Joining the team in 2025, she enjoys getting to work on cattle to equine & meeting each of your pets. When she isn’t at work you can find her with family, in the barn tending to her family’s show pigs or playing with her dog Briggs.

Anne Anibal, DVM

Joining the team in 2025 & returning to her roots in Southwest Missouri- Dr. Anibal is a mixed animal practitioner with an emphasis in food animal medicine and surgery.

Raised on a small dairy farm near Carthage, MO, she gained an early love and appreciation for agriculture and livestock. She graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.

Although large animal medicine is her primary passion, she also finds reward in small animal and equine patients. Away from work Dr. Anibal can be found gardening, playing with her dogs and is a frequent traveler.
